Authentication/DNS

NRTC provides dependable RADIUS authentication and domain name service (DNS) to our member organizations. These services are essential for Internet access, and are provided on our cluster of redundant servers. This architecture insures against hardware failure, and the servers are housed in our data center for greater reliability. NRTC also offers Smarthost local authentication servers configured and maintained by our staff for locations where network latency may be an issue.

Data Center

Our state of the art data center features climate-controlled, redundant power supplies with generator backup, and high-speed connections to the Internet through AT&T and other major service providers. This redundancy ensures that our servers will be available at all times. This is essential to providing reliable services to your members.

Backbone

NRTC offers connections at T-1 speeds or higher to the AT&T MIS backbone. AT&T is a "tier 1" Internet provider with a robust, worldwide network and direct links to all other major Internet service providers. Because of our partnership with At&T, you can be assured that your data will be routed reliably and efficiently to its destination. NRTC saves you the trouble of circuit ordering and IP management, by coordinating with our dedicated engineering contacts at AT&T. As your national cooperative, we are able to offer all this with competitive pricing.

Engineering

NRTC develops and maintains network documentation and diagrams to assist in network management. The engineering staff helps with initial network design or conversions to make certain that all the technical requirements are in place, including IP address assignment. We perform regular reviews of your resource use to help you anticipate future growth needs. Our knowledgeable staff can help you keep your Internet service offerings up to date and is your resource for technical issues.
